Agility Ladder In and Out
The Agility Ladder In and Out is a plyometric exercise for your whole body. Share of the load in the Zulta muscle model: calves (gastrocnemius) 16%, quads (vastus lateralis) 12% and hip flexors 10%.
How to do it
- Lay an agility ladder flat and stand beside the first square, facing down the ladder.
- Step the first foot into the square, then the second foot, so both feet are inside.
- Step the first foot out to the far side of the next rung, then the second foot out, straddling the ladder.
- Continue in-in-out-out down the ladder, moving forward one square per cycle.
- Work for 20 to 30 seconds, walk back and repeat.
Tips
- Stay on the balls of the feet so each step is quick and light.
- Say the rhythm in your head, in-in-out-out, to lock in the pattern.
Common mistakes
- Letting the heels drop and slowing the rhythm.
- Taking wide, heavy steps out to the side.
- Losing track of the pattern and double-stepping in one square.
