Tibialis Raise Machine
The Tibialis Raise Machine is a strength exercise on a machine for your calves. Share of the load in the Zulta muscle model: tibialis anterior 88%.
How to do it
- Sit on the machine and hook the tops of your feet under the foot pad, heels on the heel rest.
- Adjust the pad so it sits across the top of the feet, just behind the toes.
- Hold the side handles and sit tall with the knees bent.
- Pull the toes up toward the shins, lifting the pad as far as you can.
- Pause at the top and lower slowly until the feet point down.
Tips
- Keep the heels fixed on the rest so only the ankles move.
- Go slow on the way down, the stretch at the bottom is part of the work.
Common mistakes
- Lifting the whole leg from the hip.
- Using a load so heavy the range is tiny.
- Letting the pad drop fast.
Muscles worked by the Tibialis Raise Machine
Share per muscle in the Zulta muscle model. The model spreads the load of one rep over 40 muscles, based on EMG and biomechanics research.
Pulling the toes up toward the shin is dorsiflexion, done almost entirely by tibialis anterior.
